Made from black walnut, each box features a 3D topographic of the specified region with lakes and rivers. 100% brass hinges and closure magnets add refined form to function. Flies are held in place with premium self-healing silicone (if you are used to the standard foam or cork, you will appreciate the upgrade!).

Topography and engraving are done by a machine to ensure accuracy but assembly, finish, and quality checks are by hand.

Each box is finished with 7 coats of a sprayed water-based polyurethane made for outdoor applications. This finish was chosen specifically to limit VOCs, protect against UV rays (yellowing), ‘stretch’ with the organic material during extreme temperature changes, and hold up against scratches and dents.

After months of testing, we believe we found the right balance of durable construction while celebrating the natural materials to ensure your fly box can keep up with the rigors of outdoor adventures.

Because wood is a natural material, long-term exposure to extreme elements may affect its function. If exposed to water, promptly dry. If the finish is scratched or damaged after years of use, you can lightly sand and recoat with any water-based protectant.
